The super hit movie Slumdog Millionaire has dominated 81st Academy Awards.The movie won eight Oscars including best director and best picture. Kate Winslet who was on her sixth nomination finally won the best actress Oscar for The Reader. The big surprise of the evening was Sean Penn, winning best actor for his role as a gay rights activist Harvey Milk.

The ultimate choice Heath Ledger won Oscar for supporting actor for The Dark Knight... The famous Indian music composer AR Rahman won two Oscars for best song and best score. He praised the city which inspired the book, and subsequently the film.
